David M. Stimpson
David is the father of twin daughters, and in July of 2013, he was blessed with two more daughters through his marriage with Stephanie Stimpson. His family currently resides in Tecumseh, Michigan, located in the northeastern portion of Lenawee County. He is a founding partner in the previous existing law firm of Bruce, Calkins & Stimpson PLLC, and branched off to form his sole practice of Stimpson & Associates, P.C. Our office is located at 108 W. Chicago Blvd., Tecumseh, MI of Lenawee County. He earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Toledo and his Bachelor of Science from Eastern Michigan University.
He was elected to the Lenawee County Commission in 2004 and currently serves as the commission’s chairman and chairman of the Criminal Justice Committee, overseeing the finical operations of the county: Sheriff Department, Circuit, Probate and District Courts, Prosecuting Attorney’s office, Emergency Management Department, Medical Examiner, Maurice Spears Juvenile Campus, and Community Corrections Departments; and a member of the Economic Development Corporation, Labor Negotiations, Local Finance Authority Board for the City of Tecumseh, and the CDBG Loan Approval Panel.
Dave participates in several organizations outside of the county and legal community. He is a member of the Lenawee, Hillsdale and Jackson County Community Action Agency, past president of the Tecumseh Kiwanis Club, past Chairman of the Michigan Association of Counties Human Service Committee and member of the State of Michigan Out of State Placement Task Force. He has testified before the Michigan Senate, was a member of the Lenawee County Library Board, Tecumseh Downtown Development Authority, Lenawee Economic Development Corporation, Lenawee County Land Bank, Lenawee County Brownfield Authority and many more national, state and local organizations throughout his career and still finds time to actively participate in his children’s lives by coaching a local soccer team.
His participation throughout Lenawee County and the Michigan Association of Counties has afforded him many opportunities to develop and participate in many areas of the State’s Juvenile Justice System. His involvements with the community and various areas of the legal system have enhanced his ability to represent clients with the perspective of a practitioner, family man, and leader in the community.
Brandi has been with Stimpson & Associates, P.C. since August 2014, and her daily office tasks include correspondence to clients and opposing parties, drafting of legal documents, and office billing. Brandi is originally from Morenci, Michigan, and graduated from Adrian College with a Bachelor’s degree in English with an Emphasis on Writing. She now resides in Clinton with her husband.
