David M. Stimpson
Specializing in civil litigation and family law, David has practiced law for over 20 years. He began his career as an associate with an Ann Arbor-based litigation firm representing clients in Circuit Courts all over Southeast Michigan. David was a founding member of a law firm in Ann Arbor, Monroe, and Tecumseh in 2004 and later Stimpson & Associates emerged from that firm in 2012.
Dave earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Toledo and his Bachelor of Science from Eastern Michigan University. David has been elected to the Lenawee County Board of Commissioners since 2004 and served as the Board Chairman for 6 years. He also serves on the Local Finance Authority Board for the City of Tecumseh and the CDBG Loan Approval Panel Lenawee County Community Mental Health Board, Jackson-Lenawee-Hillsdale Community Action Agency Board, The Southeast Michigan Substance Abuse Oversight Council. David is a member of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. American Bar Association, Institute of Continuing Legal Education Certificate holder in Family Law and Estate Planning, a member of the Washtenaw and Lenawee County Bar association serving as President of the Lenawee County Bar Association.
Dave is also active in the community as a past president of Kiwanis and assists God’s Bread Basket, a local food pantry, with their efforts to help those that need it. Dave is a member of the Tecumseh Downtown Development Authority and Chamber of Commerce. He also serves as legal counsel to several other non-profit, community-based programs. He has started local events for small businesses hosting parties on the patio and is very supportive of local youth events such as youth theater and youth sporting clubs and teams.
