Specializing in alternative dispute resolution in civil and domestic relations cases, Phillip began his career with the defense litigation law firm of James & Hall, PC, representing local healthcare facilities, physicians, and financial institutions. He has represented some of the nation’s leading community hospitals and healthcare systems as well as the world’s oldest and fourth largest property and casualty insurance company. He has been recognized as a national leader in healthcare risk management an alternative captive/risk finance.
Phillip received a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University, and a masters and law degree from the University of Toledo. Philip is a board member and former chair of the Michigan Family Mediation Council and the State Bar of Michigan Alternative Dispute Resolution Council, Character and Fitness Committee, and the Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee. He is a member, fellow, and former board member of the American Society of Healthcare Risk Management, a certified professional healthcare risk manager, and a member of MSHRM.
